Weekly Write-Up: 17th June 2020

Welcome to the SPF Weekly Write-Up, where each Wednesday we collect together the self-publishing news of the week so you don’t have to.

This week: the Kindle Storyteller judges are announced, and Ads for Authors is open for another week.

Kindle Storyteller UK Judges Announced

Each year, Kindle holds a competition for English-language books published between May 1st and August 31st. Any book is eligible so long as it includes the right keyword in its metadata, and the winner gets £20,000 and a UK marketing campaign from Amazon.

There’s still plenty of time to submit but, in the meantime, the judges have finally been announced! The “celebrity” this time is TV presenter Claudia Winkleman, and she’s joined not only by last year’s winner, Ian S Sainsbury, but also fellow indie authors LJ Ross and our very own Mark Dawson.

You can read more about the judges here, and learn more about submitting your book to the Kindle Storyteller competition here.

Ads for Authors – Open Now

It’s not too late to sign up for Ads for Authors, but be quick – it closes in a week’s time and won’t be open again until much later in the year.

Discover how to master Facebook, BookBub and Amazon Ads (with a brand new course on the latter by Janet Margot, an ex-Amazon insider with plenty of secrets to spill) and learn how to supercharge your sales.

Learn more about the course and the various payment plans available here.
